Hello APF CA, Im new to the sport had my first competion in May in the USPF and looking to move over to the AAPF. I like the idea of competitions a little closer to home. Ive been talking to Steve and he directed me to the forum. I was looking for some local lifters to train with evey once in a while. Im in Tulare and I currently train out of my garage. I have the basics, power rack, bench, lat pull. Im a firm believer that in order to get stronger you need to surrond yourself with strong people. I plan on attending the ironman in fresno to watch and learn. You can antact me through here or at wiwest61105@yahoo.com. Thanks

Hi! I get up to Visalia every once in a while, which, I believe, is near you. The next time I head up there we could have a workout.
I read the posts on the WPC-APF Forum. I think you should head down to Chatsworth and have a bench workout with Mendy and his boys. They train late in the evening on Mondays and Fridays. You could leave Tulare at 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. on Friday and make the 9:00 p.m. workout. I think it would help your bench.
Also, I believe you said something about sticking closer to home (Fresno). I drive from L.A. to Visalia in about 2-1/2 hours. From Tulare, it should be a little shorter. It's not something you'd want to do all the time, I understand. But to come down for a Saturday meet a couple of times a year wouldn't be so bad.

Sounds good, you've got my email address, give me a heads up and we can throw something together. Id love some coaching, take all I can get. How would I go about getting in session with Scot? Do I need to contact his place or just drop in?

Steve, here. I'll jump in on this thread. I workout with Scot. We'd love to have you stop by some night. You could call Scot in advance and tell him you'd like to come down for a workout. Or, you could just drop in. I would advise you, however, to let us know in advance that you're coming just in case we're not working out that night for some reason or another.
