Is anyone using a short bench cycle? In other words, ramp it up for 4-6 weeks and then doing speed work or much lower weights, raw or in the shirt, for a week or two, then going back at it.

Yes, I do that. I work in eight-week cycles. Then take a week off. Then another eight-week cycle.
