KK made this announcement today.

Shortly you will all be seeing an article in PL USA written by Jon Grove our APF Georgia State Chairman. He makes some valid points, but the positive is superseded by his shocking negative comments. It's about his feelings on the traditional sense of the sport being overshadowed by the WPO. That Myself/WPO aren't following the traditional values of the sport that most lifters are familiar with. He discredits all WPO squats, and WPO totals. Starting from Garry Franks legendary breaking the 2500 barrier, and every WPO total record broken from then until now, including Andrew Bolton’s mind boggling 2810. That this would never of been possible without the excessively lose WPO Officiating.
I have talked to Jon since reading the article. He knows he could have given his opinion in a much less damaging fashion. Even though I completely disagree with his opinion he has been a valuable asset to the APF/WPC. He runs great meets, coaches many lifters, will remain the APF GA State Chair, and runs his North Georgia Barbell for his lifters to have a top level facility to train. He has given back to the sport to say the least. He even agrees that he went way over the top with his opinion, and even though Jon's sticking to his feelings he realizes the timing of his letter couldn't have been worse.
For the record the APF/WPC is run in the traditional sense that 99% of the powerlifting world is familiar with. Totally separate from the WPO. That 2 times a year the WPO runs the entertainment oriented WPO Semifinals/Finals. Purposely allowing longer weigh-in times so lifters can lift as much as possible to entertain the large Arnold Classic Expo crowd. Even though they don't, I have told the statisticians to keep WPO results/records out of the top 100, and to have totally separate rankings for the WPO due to the 48 hour weigh-in. Yes I call all the shots in the WPO, but the APF/WPC is a complete democracy where we vote on all issues every year at our annual AGM during the WPC Worlds. Many of you just assume I run the APF/WPC as a dictatorship, without knowing the facts. Lifters are allowed to be part of the annual AGM meeting, but never more than a handful participate. It's always just the heads of each WPC Nation/WPC Officials.
There are tons of APF/AAPF meets for the rest of 2007. The APF Seniors is going to be awesome to say the least. The Shores Resort is full. The meet sight rocks!! Many APF lifters will be there no matter what's happened in the WPO. That not being part of the Arnold Classic wont effect the direction/success of the APF/WPC. Because no matter what you think of me, or the WPO, the APF/WPC is the biggest it has ever been. Thank you.
Kieran Kidder, APF/WPC President.
