From Kieran Kidder...
The WPC Can-Am's will still be held in Lake George N.Y. on September 15th, hosted by Bill Crawford/Sam Lucciano. However there will be no WPO USA Semifinal. If you have already bought a ticket to Lake George you can still use it to compete at WPC Can-Am's, and WPC World Records can be broken. There will be 3 scenarios in which a lifter can come to the WPO Finals new home, the LA Fit Expo. First, any lifter who was in the Top 5 from the 2007 WPO Finals at the AC, is eligible for the 2008 WPO Finals at the LA Fit Expo. Second, any lifters who were in the Top 5 at the 2006 WPO Semifinals in Lake George N.Y. is also eligible for the 2008 WPO Finals in LA. Last any lifter can come to WPO Finals who places in Top 5 at the 2007 WPO Semifinals in Togliatti, Russia, hosted in conjunction with WPC Worlds this October, 29th – November,4th 2007. Yuri Ustinov is anticipating over 500 lifter in Russia, and says there will definitely be prize money for WPO lifters. He will let me know exactly how much in a month.
The Federation is the biggest it's ever been because of Yuri's unyielding devotion to the WPC/WPO in Russia. Which has created an International buzz that has spread to neighboring countries. Spartak Vaskovskyy just hosted the best bench meet ever in the Ukraine with a total of $50K in prize money. They plan on having more big time bench meets, and expect to see the Ukraine host the 2009 WPC Worlds/WPO Semifinals with even more than $50K in prize money for 3-Lift lifters.
Even though I won't be hosting the 2007 WPC/WPO Worlds in Russia, or the WPO Finals in Los Angles, I will still be at both. I will only be running my AAPF/APF Southern States Meet in Jax Fl. the first weekend of December on the1st-2nd,2007. Other than that I will be working on getting the WPO Lifters owed prize money paid up. I have just recently sent out $10,000 dollars to a handful of lifters owed money since 2005. I will be sending out $8000-$10,000 every 3-months until everyone is paid. Hopefully if all goes well the lifters from 2005 will be paid off at the end of the year, and the 2006 lifters by the middle of 2008. It's the best I can do. Thank you. Good luck.
