Does anyone use isometrics or static holds in their training? The old York Barbell guys used to do this type of training all the time.

My husband uses isometrics and static holds in his bench training. He'll set a power rack at the height of a stcking point and load the bar far above the weight that he can press and push against the weight for 5-6 singles, 5 seconds each time. He thinks it has helped him get stronger at the point he's working.
